The Rookie Lifeguard program is the Royal Life Saving Society UK's (RLSS UK) flagship water safety and lifesaving course for children aged 8 to 12. Designed to follow after basic swimming lessons, it teaches essential survival, rescue, and first-aid skills while keeping young swimmers active and safe in and around water What is a Rookie Lifeguard? The program is a fantastic way for children to build their swimming confidence while learning how to save lives. It acts as a stepping stone for young people who might want to become professional lifeguards or swimming teachers in the future., but more than that, kids are often the ones to raise the alarm in water safety situations. Every swimmer wants to be able to help if they see someone in trouble, be it their siblings, peers, pets or a stranger in trouble. Having the skills to know when not to attempt, and having the skills to do so safely without endagering themselves is the key. These skills not only challenge young swimmers and add to the core abilities, they help save lives, and ready youngsters should they wish to go onto work as lifeguards at 16 we can assist them with the qaulifications they need. available as a 121 or small group sessions of up to 6 students.
